If you are taking the SAT this year and would like to improve your scores, you have probably heard of all of the different prep schools out there, but how do you know which one is the most effective and which one is just a scam? We’ll look at some of the most important characteristics to look for when choosing the perfect SAT school for your education. Learn more on the best sat prep.
First, make sure that the school has the resources available to you to make the most out of your time, both in the classroom and online. You should expect to get personalized tutoring from an experienced coach and/or consultant. The best online schools should have access to a full range of materials, from practice tests to audio tapes, which will allow you to maximize your time.
Tutors are not required, of course. However, having someone who is experienced in your area of study can go a long way towards ensuring that you get the most out of your time and preparation. If you’re going to take the SAT online, ensure that the tutor has experience in the subject matter that you’ll be taking it on. Also, make sure that they will be able to help you in your home before and after taking the test, or you may end up having to wait in a long line at the test center and it may not really feel right. Ask around your class if you can find out how your tutor’s fare at the school that you are considering.
Don’t make the mistake of signing up for the first SAT tutoring you run across. There is a huge difference between having a good tutor who can give you useful information and actually teaching you and having someone who will simply keep you busy while you take the test. It’s important to select a tutor who is well respected and has been at the school for a while. They will be more likely to have a rapport with your fellow students and will be able to offer you information on the SAT prep courses you’ll need to prepare for the exam. They will also be able to answer any questions that you may have about the SAT and prepare you for it in a way that will help you get the most out of every minute of it.
Second, you want a school that offers the type of SAT that you’re taking, whether that’s the ACT or the SAT. If you have taken any college prep courses, they should be available to you in the form of an online course. and/or as a text book to read. If not, make sure that you’re not only taking the ACT. because this is a great prep tool and will give you the exact same tools that you would take if taking the SAT.
Third, check into the test center. Make sure that you are able to see the entire material that the tutor used in order to prepare for the exam. You also want a program that offers personalized feedback, whether it’s a chat option to talk with a coach or a personal email.
Fourth, ensure that the school offers both the practice test and the actual test, because many tutors offer prep for the ACT and/or SAT as well. This will allow you to practice, revise, and study without having to worry about taking the test with the tutor in your home.
Finally, you want to look for a school that does not charge for a tutor for an entire semester. Some schools may charge for an entire year and some may even charge for the tutor for as little as one or two semesters.
